La Aurora 107 Cigars

We're thrilled to have a seasoned and knowledgeable (not to mention a terrific guy) send us his review on one of the latest cigars from La Aurora.

Without further ado? Take it away Slim!

Tonight I am gonna light up the 107 and put it through its paces. This is a gorgeous matte dark brown wrapper with small veins and oh so subtle tooth. The band is a work of art. I love the color pallet and the gold border just pops against the dark wrapper.
The prelight bouquet is pure sweet tobacco on both the wrapper and the foot. The first couple of pulls reward your pallet with a salty, savory, full body smoke that you can chew. I can taste salt on my lips from the wrapper and the retro hale is nice and smooth with a building pepper spice.
The first third is smooth, creamy, and spicy. There’s something there that I just cant put my finger on and it changes depending on how I retro hale. If I push the smoke out quickly the pepper is up front and I don’t get much else but if I just let the smoke meander its way out I can taste cedar and citrus. Into the second third and I cant say enough about the construction of this stick. A great draw, dark grey ash that’s holding on strong and a trouble free burn line. We can now add meat to the list of amazing flavors. Combine that with the salt and all I can think of is steak and baked potatoes. The meaty component was great if only short lived. In the final third meat is gone and the citrus, spice, and oak remain with the addition of leather.
This cigar never let me down and to truly appreciate the flavors and aroma you have to get your nose into the game. I only have one more of these left in the box and am going to have to remedy that post hast. Do yourself a favor a pick some of these up to experience what La Aurora can do for you.

Wow! Thanks so much for your feedback on this scrumptious new cigar from La Aurora.
Miami Cigar & Company, the exclusive distributor for La Aurora brands in the United States, announces the release of the La Aurora Serie 107 Anniversario to mark the company’s 107th year of operation in the Dominican Republic.
Miami Cigar president Nestor Miranda says, “We have represented La Aurora for over 20 years and feel this is one of the best cigars they have made so far. La Aurora vice president Guillermo Léon adds, “We realize that while our family has been making fine handcrafted cigars for more than a century, some cigar smokers still have not tried our products and others remember when we only made cigars in the mild range. La Aurora has been developing medium to full bodied cigars with full flavor and we want to let people know how we have changed. The Rediscover La Aurora is part of our outreach to those smokers.”
The 107, which uses a Sun Grown Ecuador wrapper over 6 year old fillers and binder from Dominican Republic and Nicaragua, will come in boxes of 21 with a suggested retail price between $6 to $8. There will be 3 sizes: Robusto (4.5×50); Toro (5.5×54); and a Belicoso (6.25 x 52). ~Cigar Industry
