Brickhouse Cigars

Brickhouse Cigars, by the JC Newman company, is the latest cigar to join our collection of premium cigars. Handsomely packaged, with a Victorian era style cigar band, this cigar has a great flavor profile. We taste tested here at the shop and found it to be well constructed and produced an abundance of aromatic smoke in a medium flavor profile. It starts off with an earthy flavor, hints of peppery spice, and mellows out into a relaxing enjoyable smoke. Well within the comfort range of affordability this is a good quality cigar and one that either a new or seasoned smoker would enjoy.

Frank Llaneza 1961 Cigars

We're always happy to see Mike, our Altadis rep, and today was no exception. He spent most of the day with helping us set up new displays that arrived. The boxes you see are from the special "Operation Hope"

The new Frank Llaneza 1961 Cigars were on the list
of new cigars that have arrived and are presented in handsome boxes. One of the nicest presentations of cigars we've seen.

Within a few minutes of them arriving they were being smoked. They say the "Proof is in the Pudding" and as you can see by the photo below this Frank Llaneza 1961 was being enjoyed!

Thanksgiving Tastings

It's a tough job but someone has to do it. Tasting new cigars that is. I had the pleasure today of meeting with our sales rep, Joaquin, from Oliveros cigars in the shop today. One of the nicest people in the business Joaquin always has a ready smile and is happy to take the time to speak to customers about the world of fine cigars. We're introducing a new line from Oliveros and Joaquin invited me to taste test their new Mango Margarita and Vodka Cranberry once more. Both these flavors tantalized me. Definitely  winners out of the gate! Look for them soon on our website and join in the Margarita Ville fun! Flavored cigars aren't for everyone but if you've never tried one you just may find a enjoyable surprise waiting for you in these infused long leaf filler premium smokes. Perfect for a quick light smoke or leisurely after dinner one. These are also great cigars to have on hand to offer guests during the holidays.

Cain Cigars by Sam Leccia

Cain cigars, which feature triple fermented ligero leaf, are Sam Leccia's newest blending. The magic begins in the fermentation process and doesn't stop until the last tendril of smoke disappears.

Bonita Smoke Shop is honored to have a guest article written by Alan Allard who is a dynamic, results oriented, business coach. He spoke about his philosophy towards cigars and we are pleased to share his insightful outlook with you.

A Great Cigar:  RX For Stress Relief

There are few things that are more effective or immediate in banishing stress than a great cigar.  That’s my professional opinion and you can quote me on that.  As a former psychotherapist turned life and business coach, I know something about helping others deal with their stress.

Cigars are the great equalizer when chaos is roaring right at you.  Stress seems to evaporate with the first puff and as the smoke rises and swirls around me. Problems fade away and suddenly I’m at peace with myself and the world.

I’ve read that right before the ban on Cuban cigars entering the United States, President Kennedy sent his aid out to buy up all the Cubans he could find in D.C.  I’m pretty sure Kennedy knew something about stress and how to handle it! No doubt that his favorite cigars helped kept him clear headed during the missile crisis.

The next time you’re wanting some instant relaxation and comfort, here are a few cigars I’ve recently enjoyed. I happily prescribe to you for your stress relief.

Here a couple of cigars that will do the trick every time…

Warning:  If you’re wanting the kind of description that says “hints of chocolate in the first few puffs, then I was pleasantly surprised by an unmistakable coffee flavor…” you won’t get that from me.  Sorry, but I’m just not that complicated.

I was out on my deck recently and fired up a Camacho. Every Camacho I’ve had was exceptional, as was this one. Great draw, even, consistent burn and a robust high medium to strong smoke.

The next day, I smoked a Cain Habano cigar (from Nub cigars) for the first time. I think it was a 6 X 52 and there was no disappointment in this fine cigar.  This is a full bodied cigar and you can tell from the first few minutes that it will probably kick your butt if you smoke it on an empty stomach.

The draw was impeccable all the way through, the wrapper was smooth and the burn was even throughout. This is a cigar you will want to enjoy soon if you love robust, full-bodied cigars.

Until next time, from one cigar lover to another…

I totally agree Alan that a cigar is the perfect "Stress Buster". I've often called that time we get to spend with a cigar an "Island of Time". Happy Smoking Alan! We look forward to hearing more of your comments. On life and on cigars!

New!

The Rocky Patel 1961 cigars were just released and are getting good reviews from our customers. These creamy, smooth drawing, medium/full bodied cigars  are named 1961 to celebrate the year of Rocky's birth. Nice peppery notes give the Patel 1961 cigars rich and spicy tones yet remain smooth and elegant. These are extremely limited in production.

Rainy days make great cigar smoking days

Long rainy afternoons in this part of Southwest Florida. Might put a damper on some golf games but there's always more sunshine in a little while here.

One of our latest cigars to arrive are Kristoff cigars. Uniquely rolled with a small "pig tail" cap and Cuban style foot these cigars are impressing us quite a bit. True to it's creator, Glen Close's description, his Kristoff Ligero Criollo embodies incredible notes of toasted nut, caramel, undertones of cedar, spice and a sweet finish. This cigar leaves a clean, fresh finish on your palate. These are great cigars not only for your own enjoyment but ones we'd recommend as a high end quality gift cigars for a cigar lover.

One of my own personal favorites is his Kristoff Sumatra. I love a sultry Sumatra wrapper and this cigar, which uses a rich aged Ecuadorian Sumatra over a Brazilian binder, is temptation personified. The filler is all long leaf and an outstanding blend of smooth Dominican and flavorful Nicaraguan tobacco. Faint delightful "barn" scent at the foot upon presentation. The feel of the cigar is just right. No soft spots and well crafted. Beautiful burn line with almost a perfect ash. These are cigars that can be described as "Impressive" and live up to it!
